How we compare

Every price on eSIMScout was read from the provider's own website - never estimated, never copied from another comparison site - and every price shows the date we checked it. Prices were last verified on 2026-09-28. Providers change prices often, so always confirm on the provider's page before buying; if you spot a stale price, tell us and we will fix it.

How rankings work

Fixed-data plans are ranked by price per GB. Unlimited plans cannot be ranked per GB, so they are ranked by price per day and shown after fixed plans. The "best value" badge goes to the lowest price per GB among plans with at least 3GB, so a tiny cheap plan cannot win on a technicality. Commission never affects ordering - the maths is the maths.

What "unlimited" really means

Almost every "unlimited" travel eSIM has a fair-use policy: a daily full-speed allowance, after which speeds throttle (typically to 0.5-2 Mbps) until the daily reset. Providers differ in how clearly they publish the allowance - where we know it, we say so on the country page.

What we exclude, and why

  • Prices we could not verify on a live provider page - including some Airalo fixed-data tiers and Ubigi prices for several destinations. We say so in the country notes rather than publishing a guess.
  • Monthly recurring subscriptions (e.g. Ubigi's monthly plans) - a different product from a one-off travel plan, not comparable on the same table.
  • Maya Mobile's legacy per-country store - Maya's current product is a single global unlimited pass, so that is what we list.
  • Plans with bundled calls/texts, except where noted - most travel eSIMs are data-only.

The providers we track

  • Airalo - QR install, no app required; Refunds for unused eSIMs; wrong-purchase refunds as store credit; 14-day withdrawal right that ends on activation.
  • Holafly - QR install, no app required; 6-month window; full refund if unactivated; connection-issue refunds carry a $3.50 admin fee and must be raised during the trip. Hotspot sharing is allowed but capped at 1GB per day.
  • Saily (Nord Security (NordVPN)) - app-based install; Full refund for non-activated plans within 30 days; activated plans only for Saily-side issues or >99% data unused.
  • Nomad (LotusFlare, Inc.) - QR install, no app required; 30-day window; full refund if unused; unlimited plans are non-refundable.
  • Ubigi (Transatel | NTT) - QR install, no app required; Refund only if plan unused, requested within 14 business days; QR codes expire 6 months after purchase.
  • Maya Mobile (Mobile Maya Inc.) - app-based install; Full refund (less processing fees) if no data used within 30 days; 14-day withdrawal right ends on activation.
